why do you get a sore neck?

What causes neck pain?

1.  Poor posture: Spending long periods of time with your head in a forward or slouched position can strain the muscles and ligaments in the neck, leading to pain and discomfort.

2.  Muscle strain or sprain: This can be caused by overuse, repetitive motions, or sudden movements that cause the neck to move outside of its normal range of motion.

3.  Whiplash: This is a common injury that occurs when the head is suddenly jerked backward and then forward, causing strain or sprain to the neck muscles and ligaments.

4.  Herniated or bulging discs: These are conditions in which the soft tissue between the vertebrae in the neck becomes damaged, causing pain and discomfort.

5.  Arthritis: This is a chronic condition that can cause inflammation and pain in the joints, including those in the neck.

6.  Pinched nerves: When the nerves that travel through the neck become compressed or pinched, it can cause pain, numbness, or tingling in the neck, shoulders, arms, or hands.
